U12's - U16's Season 2014/15.

We are pleased to announce that for the 2014/15 JPL season BANES F.D. and AFD Bath will be joining forces to create one leading centre in the area. By pooling our resources and efforts together we shall have the best possible environment for player development and be at the forefront of standards… more

Who are we?

We are a regional development centre selecting the best players in Bath and North East Somerset who are not attached to any professional clubs. We offer players the opportunity to receive academy standard coaching and play games against higher standard opposition.

What are we trying to achieve?

Our main priority is developing the players and giving them opportunities to test themselves, without losing that contact to local football which is so important. There are many players out there who are excellent at club level but not quite ready to perform consistently at academy or centre of excellence level. We can give them a safe, controlled environment where they can learn and develop without the pressure of an academy. Our fixture program includes games against academy and centre of excellence teams as well as playing against other county teams in the South West.

How can this be done?

Our tailor made coaching syllabus is created by our UEFA qualified team of coaches. It draws on their many years of accumulated experience  working in centre of excellences, academies and county representative sides. It is based loosely on the FFF (French Football Federation) coaching programme, also incorporating components passed on from the top footballing clubs in the world today. It incorporates ball skills, small sided games and Futsal to create better decision making and improved technical ability. The programme also includes development topics and tactical insight to give BANES Football Development players a better knowledge and understanding of the game.
